ON DEVELOPMENT OF MULTI-LEVEL STRUCTURE OF HIGHER
Abstract
The multi-level curriculum structure in Russiawill become compulsory on September 1, 2011, so that a bignumber of bachelors will be graduating from higher schoolssince 2015. Though in some higher schools the transitiontowards new structure was completed even before thebeginning of Bologna process. The Moscow State Academyof Fine Chemical Technology (MITHT) fully implementedthe multi-level curriculum structure in 1997. The MITHTexperience helps to suggest the most low-cost way oftransition to this structure. Its concept meets therequirements of the Bologna Declaration and preserves thebest traditions of Russian education: deep and wide basictraining, combination of study and scientific investigations,substantial amount of practical training. The curriculumalso provides programs of different level and specialization,alternative varieties of curriculum within the same level,working out the professional specialization courses togetherwith future employer, creating of competitive environmentfor the whole period of education.Index Terms ⎯ multi-level curriculum structure,professional education, Bologna process.
