Abstract


The fashion, clothing and cult of appearanceare issues that prevail today in modern society, but how menare inserted in this context? What are the achievements andthe prejudices which still haunt the Portuguese andBrazilians men? And the work clothing, does it bringconfort? Is the image consulting a way? This are a fewquestions wich sought to unravel in a comparative researchbetween Portuguese and Brazilians men. The main resultsobtained show that, despite some peculiarities, there is nostatistically significant differences between Portuguese andBrazilians men with regard to the conduct of fashion. Men,in general, shows some confident, wich get materializes inthe act of feeling comfortable witf the clothes the they wearand the penchant to spend in clothes, always attentive to hisimage. The professional support is still a controversial issue,with little acceptance and valorization in the male universe.Index Terms ⎯ Homem, Moda, Imagem, Consumidor.
