A UTILIZAÇÃO DA TERAPIA AQUÁTICA COMO MÉTODO DE REDUÇÃO DA DOR EM UTI NEONATAL (RELATO DE CASO)
Abstract
The newborn feels pain in most potential and resources such as aquatic therapy can minimizes it. Evaluate the aquatic therapy as pain reduction of method in hospitalized infants in private Neonatology Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Patient M.S (12 weeks old), dependent on ventilation mechanic. Treatment (5 sessions performed water bucket 98F degree, for 10 minutes, with sensory motor movements organization, immersion and relaxation. Applying Neonatal Infant Pain Score scale (NIPS), to evaluate pain before and after the procedure. After each session, there was the sleepy patient and improvement in vital signs. Before the therapy according to NIPS, the patient was 4 score (pain) and after the procedure, it was 01 score pain. The Aquatic Therapy was effective in treating pain and vital signs of the patient, however more studies are needed to ensure the real benefits of this therapy in newborn and infants.
