Abstract

Are fundamental in democratic countries, voting and political parties. Voting is a must get. The political party presents a candidate, making the first screening for the decision of the electorate. There are serious risks that the parties present themselves to the democratic system. If they have a structure and are controlled by oligarchic group linked to the same interest, there will be no true democracy. Thus becomes evident the need to analyze the distributions of power party. The aim of this study was to analyze using geoprocessing, as the state of Santa Catarina was represented by political parties in the 2012 elections. The PT has its greatest strength in the western region of the state. The PSD has its representability divided by the entire state, not concentrated in a particular region. The PMDB has the largest number of cities on his command.
