Abstract


This work presents an investigation on theassessment practices conducted by teachers of a MechanicalEngineering course, and on the consequences of thesepractices in the student interaction with the educationalinstitution. Mechanics engineering students have beeninterviewed. They reported their positive and the negativeexperiences within the scholar assessment processes. Thestudents stories have been analyzed, and their qualitativecontents has been extracted and grouped in 5 dimensions:pedagogical, instrumental, emotional, ethical and socioeconomic.Some conjectures about the meaning of the resultsare sketched.Index Terms ⎯ Assessment practices, assessment processes,engineering courses
