Abstract

The appropriate use of computer aidedtechnologies, allied to the concepts and design guidelines, grounded in biology, stimulated the development of a solartoilet, able to convert human waste into compost, rich innutrients for use in gardens, farms and small farms. Thistransdisciplinary approach is presented as a necessary toolto be used in academia, integrating and developing activitiespreviously disconnected. The solar toilet also called greenbathroom, combines the most modern concepts andtechnologies of computer-aided design, design, selection ofmaterials and microbiological control, reaching biologicallycorrect and safe composting of waste, ensuring the viabilityof the project terms of cost, deployment, use andenvironmental safety, such as supporting sustainabledevelopment. It is also planned to install a pilot project in asmall community with the aim of assessing itsimplementation and use as a complementary activity anduniversity extension.Index Terms ⎯  solar toilet, CAD, design, waste, sustentability.
