GERENCIAMENTO DOS RESÃDUOS SÓLIDOS DE SAÚDE: UM ESTUDO DE CASO

Abstract

This paper aims to present a study on theManagement Plan for Solid Waste (PGRSS) applied to aprivate hospital in the city of Santos. Using the literaturebecame a description of the history of sanitation in the city,highlighting the health activities, the first remedial projects,the construction of canals and the current situation. Weconducted a field study aiming to know the material andhuman functioning of the organization through twotechniques: intensive direct observation, the individualexamination, and extensive direct observation, based onquestionnaires to management groups, industry and thecleaning staff . It was concluded that the actions of cleaningand hygiene, responsible for the plan are extremely specific,requiring human resources with specific characteristics andtraining.Index Terms ⎯  private hospital, management plan, humanresources, health care, waste.
