Abstract


This paper presents a participatorymethodology of the design of GIGEC Coroado’s VisualIdentity, built in workshops from local values and vision.The Coroado, originated in the 70’s by occupation ofdisorderly presents houses places of worship, associationsand public institutions, including the Federal University ofAmazonas (UFAM) and presents environmental problemstypical of this occupation that compromise the livingconditions of the population. Despite efforts by publicinstitutions and local leaders in addressing these problems,the results are isolated and not always have contributed tostrengthening the community. In this context, in 2009, theProgram Coroado/UFAM together with leaders andrepresentatives of local institutions created the GIGECCoroado with the aim of developing actions in an integratedmanner and promote dialogue, integration and developmentof this community, strengthened by the creation process oftheir identity. Today, the community meets monthly to plan,decide and act.Index Terms ⎯  GIGEC Coroado, Program Coroado,Visual.
