Abstract


Autism is a neurological disorder withprogressive deterioration in social interaction and languageof the people affected, with repetitive patterns of behavior.Term adopted by the American Psychiatric Association -"autism spectrum disorder" - includes Asperger syndromeand Rett, in addition to autism itself. Researchers observedin different segments and demonstrated that autistic childrenhave a number of metabolic abnormalities, nutritionaldeficiencies, deficiencies in the gastrointestinal tract,deficiencies in antioxidants and overload of toxicsubstances, especially heavy metals like mercury andaluminum, whose cumulative effects are manifested mainlyin the central nervous system. They also promote othereffects, such as reducing the number of nerve cells in thecentral nervous system and inhibition of someneurotransmitters. Disorders that are related to foodintolerance of peptides derived from the diet as gluten andcasein.Index Terms ⎯ autism, food intolerance, gluten and casein.
