ANÁLISE ECONOMICA DE RISCOS PARA A SEGURANÇA NA CONSTRUÇÃO

Abstract

The objective of this study revolves around theanalysis of the safety risks involved with in a largeconstruction project, and the respective economic effects.This analysis is fundamental for the safety management andcost reduction of accidents. The case study is the result of thesafety coordination of systems, and of the harmonizationbetween the project owner, the safety coordinator and thecontractor. The result of this collaboration is and adequatestrategy to prevent the risks during the construction of alarge hydro-electric dam in the north of Portugal. Theproject is part of a governmental plan to invest in the energyobtained from hydraulic sources. The dam in the north ofPortugal is located in a river and near the confluence withthe river Douro. It will have a capacity of storage that will bestrategic to the electricity generation in the country.Index Terms   ⎯ Construction, safety, risk analysis, riskmanagement, accidents.
