Abstract


Chitosan is polymer that can exhibit characteristic nontoxic since it is derived in nature. By presenting this characteristic has been used in various fields of knowledge through various research on its applicability. Chitosan capsules are administered at 500mg Wistar rats and after two months of treatment will be sacrificed for histological liver, intestine and phagocytosis assay. Aiming to analyze the use of this drug is able to assist in weight loss, presents toxicity to cells, its role in specific organs and changes in the behavior of animals. The results described would be of great value in understanding the behavior of chitosan and its application in the medical field.
