EFEITOS DO USO INADEQUADO DE ERITROPOETINA (EPO) RATTUS NORVEGICUS

Abstract

Erythropoietin is a hormone produced by the kidneys and liver, responsible for the induction of maturation of red blood cells which are responsible for transporting oxygen to tissues. Exist reports of its use by athletes of endurance improperly to achieve a better performance in his evidence. This project has a objective, research the possible damage caused by improper use of this substance. With this, Rattus norvegicus will be treated with doses of erythropoietin 3mg per day during one month, and subsequently sacrificed for histologic analysis of liver, kidneys, skeletal muscle and bone marrow, biochemical and hematologic.
