Abstract


Brazil, the sixth economic power in the world,maintain and advance the economic development requireshuge amount of electricity. The aim of this work is to question the new focus given to the construction of smallhydropower plants with reservoirs, ie, with little reservepower. The methodology for the development of the research is based on a descriptive / correlational; it consists of observation and recording of events in the works of construction of hydroelectric plants. It presentsresults in the identification of the need to develop projects that include both the large reservoirs sustainabilities and answer the following: technical, economic, financial, political, social, legal and environmental, considering thatthe main grid electricity is the quantity of water stored inreservoirs of hydroelectric plants.
