ANÁLISE DOS ELEMENTOS QUE CONDICIONARAM O ENCERRAMENTO DO ATERRO CONTROLADO DA MURIBECA EM JABOATÃO DOS GUARARAPES – PE

Abstract

The "dumps" and controlled landfills are potential sources of pollution that negatively affect human health and environmental quality of areas under their influence. This study compares the recommendations described in the “Termo de Aditamento e Ajustamento de Conduta” (TAAC) with the actions taken during operations and after the closure of the landfill Muribeca. Through the history survey and current situation of the area, we evaluated the effectiveness of the solutions that were implemented to minimize and resolve problems. The data show that. some positive results were achieved due to studies in the area and the promotion of mitigation, but most suggested solutions were not implemented properly. It is concluded that the inadequate management of the disposal area Muribeca after its closure caused impacts and socio-environmental problems that last until today and may become even more serious.
