Abstract

Daylight has been a prominent element in different stages of the history of engineering. The imperative of sustainability requires that natural light is one of the few renewable resources available once again be treated with due importance. Another important factor is the excessive spending with ventilation. In order to keep the rooms of a home or office comfortable together, the current culture causes companies to adopt solutions to sustainability, putting ever more central air conditioning, increasing energy consumption. This is a paradigm to be changed. Based on these factors, this paper aims to examine the feasibility of implementing sustainable glass in construction in order to better energy performance of the building. By analyzing aspects of combining natural light with artificial lighting, as well as functional aspects of the glass that block radiation and provide better thermal comfort, reducing the consumption of air conditioning, is proven to be a good solution.
