Abstract

The use of nanometric components in the materials of civil construction reveals as one of the most recent and advanced technologies in the sector. The nano compound titanium dioxide (TiO2) has been used in some construction materials for being capable to transform the surfaces where it is applied one, in auto cleaners, bactericide and depolluting, characteristics that become extremely interesting when we objective the susteinability, minor use of chemical products, rational water use, and reduction of the pollution of the air that causes as many problems. A description will be presented in the article of as the titanium dioxide acts, its characteristics, and general vision on in which materials of civil construction this technology is being applied in Brazil and the world.

Index Terms – Titanium Dioxide. Nonotecnology. Sustainable Construction Materials.
