Abstract

The Mamirauá Development Sustainable Reserve
(RSDM), near the Tefe city, Amazon is characterized by the
complete absence of mining and industries, this site can be
considered preserved. To assess the quality of the river
Solimões, Mamirauá River and other rivers in the region
were determined for dissolved oxygen (DO), temperature
(T), pH, total dissolved solids (TDS), turbidity, oxidation
potential (Eh) salinity, conductivity, water transparency and
color. The methodology was the direct determination of in
situ field equipment at three depths (surface, middle and
bottom) in periods of low rainfall (October). Variations
were: OD = 0.6-4.5 mg/L, T = 28.5-32.1 0C, pH = 6.00-
7.10; TDS = 65-346 (ppt), turbidity = 1.4-66.0 (UNT), Eh=
11-45 (mv), salinity = 0.0 (mg/L), conductivity = 83.5-448
(S/cm), water transparency = 16 -83 (cm) and color = 0.0-
220 (mg/L). The results showed that only the OD is not
shown in accordance with resolution 357/05 of CONAMA.
