TRIAGEM GENÉTICA NA ATENÇÃO BÁSICA: SAÚDE AUDITIVA

Abstract


Identify the occurrence of health problems hearing in a
low income community. METHOD: First, the Community Health Agents-ACS were trained in hearing health. After interviews were conducted semi-structured interviews and collected data from 239 children aged from naught to eight years. RESULTS: 55 (23.0%) children had audiological symptoms. The ear pain was reported in 42(17.6%) of them had otorrhea in 22 (9.2%) cases. In 15 (60.0%) children were referred to hearing loss, in 17 (68.0%) they had difficulty of understanding, in five (20.0%) affected by loud sounds and only one (4.0%) child presented with bilateral deafness. In none of the five cases of deafness that was performed a genetic test, it was found the 35delG.
