ESTUDO COMPARATIVO ENTRE O PADRÃO WIMAX MÓVEL (IEEE802.16E) E DEMAIS TECNOLOGIAS (3G) DE COMUNICAÇÃO SEM FIO

Abstract

This work presents, one of the main wirelessdata transmission technologies, the World Interoperabilityfor Microwave Access (WiMAX). Firstly, the maintechnologies that make the WiMAX system available arediscussed. After that, the focus of this work, the standardIEEE802.16e, is detailed with its characteristics and recentapplications. Finally, the referred standard is compared toXDSL technologies and other wireless network cellulartechnologies of third-generation, about the aspects: datarate, portability, throughput, interoperability and economicviability.Index Terms ⎯ WiMAX, IEEE802.16e, wireless networks,3G technologies.
