The mineral exploration activity is essential tomodern society but promotes impacts on water, air, soil andlandscape as a whole. One of the alternatives for recovery ofdegraded areas is reforestation, which should include thecharacterization of the area, providing information to guidethe use of species more favorable and appropriatetreatments in soil management. This study aimed to evaluatethe development of native forest essences from the priorreview conducted by Moreira (2005). After verifying thenumber of individuals present and their ecologicalclassification, carried out the analysis of developmentthrough measures of the total height, using a bamboo of 4.5m in length, properly marked. For plants larger than 160cmused the methodology of the diameter at breast height(DAP).
