ADSORÇÃO DE REMAZOL VERMELHO RB SOBRE CINZAS DE CARVÃO: ESTUDOS CINÉTICOS E DE EQUILÍBRIO

Abstract


The adsorption of reactive dye Remazol Red RBfrom aqueous solutions on coal fly ash was studied in abatch mode operation. The result showed that the amountadsorbed of the reactive dye increased with increasing ofcontact time. It was found that the sufficient time to attainequilibrium was 360 min. The adsorption isotherms wereanalyzed using Langmuir and Freundlich models. Theequilibrium data for Remazol Red RB adsorption well fittedto the Langmuir equation with maximum adsorptioncapacity of 1.23 mg/g. The adsorption was between 74 and95% under the conditions studied.Index Terms ⎯ Fly ash; Reactive dye; Adsorption isotherms.
