PREVALÊNCIA DE CÁRIE EM CRIANÇAS DO ENSINO BÁSICO

Abstract

This is a study of research-action, that is goingto describe the feeding habits and the oral hygiene habitsand identify the dental caries prevalence, in a sampleconstituted by 138 students of the Basic Education, thatfrequent schools of the Castelo de Paiva council (Portugal).For the data collect we utilized a questionnaire, applied tothe students and a form filled by the health technician. Thefacts were treated through the program SPSS. As regardsthe feeding habits, 12.3% of the children are not going toswallow milk or derived and 34.8% do not swallowvegetables daily. Regarding the oral hygiene, 96.4% of theinfants are going to wash the teeth, 47.1% of the which,twice daily. The caries prevalence in the temporary teethingis the 63% and in the permanent teething is the 15,9%. Ofsuccession is going to develop a program of HealthEducation directed to the educational needs identified.Index Terms ⎯ Cárie dentária, Educação em Saúde,prevenção, saúde Oral.
