Abstract

Virtual labs are didactic instruments used for development of applications and practices from remote locations and to share knowledge between educative institutions. The benefits obtained through virtual labs are enormous, as they can be used by students in available free hours and also by universities with lack of technologies, as well as automation and robotics laboratories. In order to get a virtual lab, it is necessary to have physical facilities and computational resources that can interact and be managed and controlled remotely. This article presents the proposal for the design of a virtual lab in automation, developed between Technological Universities in northern Mexico. It describes some examples of remote operations in a lab made by students of engineering from Universidad Tecnológica del Sur de Sonora, located in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, México.
