INNOVACIÓN PEDAGÓGICA EN LA ASIGNATURA DE PROCESADO DIGITAL DE IMÁGENES MRI PARA EL CÁLCULO DE LOS PARAMETROS ARTICULATORIOS DEL CASTELLANO Y EL EUSKARA EN EL GRADO DE INGENIERÍA DE SISTEMAS AUDIOVISUALES
Abstract
This paper describes a scalable softwareapplication for instructing the Digital Image Processingsubject in the Audiovisual Systems engineering degree. Thisapplication is used to analyse people’s MRI signals,recorded while they pronounce phonemes in the Spanish andBasque languages. This allows the students to use anddevelop advanced signal processing algorithms and to studythe special features of both languages. In this subject,students work on such specific competences as: “Audiovideoanalysis and signal processing in the audiovisualcontext”. The specific teaching units have been developed bythe lecturers involved in the digital image processingapplications. These units fulfil the guidelines of theEuropean Higher Education Area (EHEA). Assessment ofthe software has been carry out by the lecturers andTelecommunications laboratory assistant teachers by meansof satisfaction surveys and analysis of the students’academic performance comparing the new methodologywith traditional techniques.Index Terms ⎯ Basque and Spanish phonemes, EuropeanHigher Education Area (EHEA), Image Digital Processing,MRI signals, Software application.
