Abstract


Engineering characterizes to be one of the mainknowledge fields and therefore deserves a special concern inits teaching at university courses. In an increasingglobalized world, economy becomes more dependent ofinternational agreements, since the higher education of theyoung adults that will be performing their career, up to themoment they will be in its full potential in engineering. Inthis sense, the signature of international agreementsbetween higher education institutions, has an important roleoffering to the “best breed” students the opportunity toperform an international internship. This paper shows thesuccess experience of the Mechanical EngineeringDepartment of the Engineering Faculty of Unesp/Baurucity/Brazil, with two agreement cooperations, one withGermany and other with Austria, from 2003 to 2009, inpartnerships which have sent more than 60 students toEurope, meaning not only an academician experience, but acultural one, as well.Index Terms ⎯ engineering, higher-education,international-cooperation.
