Abstract

This paper describes the application of aneducative methodology based on a learning-style model, thePreferential Complementary Learning (PCL), in ad hocteams consisting of students from two subjects ofProgramming of the School of Computer Engineering. Theoutcomes were excellent in the achievement of competenciesand, by comparison, similar to those obtained during twoprevious academic years, each of them with a team of sevenmembers selected from different styles of PCL, which isconsidered ideal due to the complementary styles. Teambuilding from a large group involved changes in thedistribution of styles in relation to previous experiences.Consequently, the need to measure the effect of the diversityfactor in the overall results was arisen. Besides, it wasconcluded that the diversity of styles in teams positivelycorrelates with these results.
