Abstract


easy to detect some conceptual gap in student’sprevious preparation, mostly related to logical reasoningand absence of algebraic skills, which are turned in realteaching and learning problems, mostly in Calculus courses.A commented dictionary of mathematics was developed, withbasic concepts, in simple language, with solved andcommented examples and geometric representation (when itwill be the case). The main errors committed by the students,observed in last the fifteen years, in classroom, arecommented. The main goal is to become more productive thedevelopment of the contents of disciplines of Mathematics,especially in Differential and Integral Calculus, and toprovide to the students a didactic material that allows to thelocalization of subjects with easiness and rapidity.Index Terms ⎯ Calculus, dictionary of mathematics,teaching and learning of mathematics, errors.
