Abstract


The objective is to develop a computational toolthat allows an intuitive environment where the user can havemore visualization of the processes inherent in thecalculation of structural elements, maximizing theinteraction between student versus teacher. Using thismethodology allows continuity in the teaching-learningoutside the classroom, with an emerging strand, both in theclassroom, as in distance learning because it enables theacademic or technical review step by step the steps of theresolution of proposed problems. At this stage ofdevelopment it will address the design of rectangularreinforced concrete pillars, specifically for the civilengineering course. The tool will be developed into anonline platform, and has its basis in free software basicallyconsists of Web languages such expectation has been thatthe user will be able to see, for example, the points ofeccentricity of the column determined according to ABNTNBR 6118(2003).Index Terms ⎯ computational tool, education, multimedia,online, rectangular pillar.
