Abstract


The paper presents a simulation system, testingand better position the drilling cabin. Presentation ofconsiderations and studies related to drilling operations,equipment specification, standard profile of the worker andvirtual reality (VR). In the cabins is found the field of visionand simulated control operations of drilling tools to positiona "great" suggested by the system. Tests in cabins alreadyinstalled on drilling platforms, identifying blind spots by theoperator. Based on use of genetic algorithms and parallelprocessing environments as well as techniques forcomputational geometry, created a system that suggests thebest cabin location on the drill rig. Using VR simulates thefield of view of the operator, allows the interference in theoperator's field of view of other existing elements of theplatform determines whether the position originallysuggested by the positioning system is appropriate,improving safety, productivity and system efficiency and costreduction.Index Terms ⎯ Drilling Cabin, Genetic Algorithms,ParallelProcessing, Virtual Reality.
