Abstract


The Final Capstone Project Report (FCPR)is part of the curricula of undergraduate programs inComputer Science and Information Systems. These projectsand reports are taken very seriously by the participants.Therefore, its development represents a major effort for thestudents and faculty advisors. A method for conducting theFRPC was defined in order to enhance its quality. Themethod integrates lecturers and actions during the differentstages of the undergraduate program and its interface withother university entities, like libraries and laboratories, alsoofferings of outreach programs. The main contribution ofthis paper is to present an interdisciplinary approach thatdevelops gradually from the lower level courses to the moreadvanced ones, aiming to improve de quality of reports tofully reflect abilities and skills acquired by the students. Thispaper also highlights the main difficulties perceived byacademics and advisors, with subsequent changes in theproposed method.Index Terms - Final Capstone Project Report,interdisciplinary projects, teaching methodology.
