Abstract
It approaches the use of authoring tools fordistance learning via web, or Web Teaching, as a solution tothe new educational needs brought with the active evolutionof information and communication technologies incontemporary society. Presents a survey and analysis offreeware authoring tools, by remark of technical andpedagogical features, from the point of view of both: userand educator. Discusses the main features of a model toolchosen by these. Concludes defining the actions to be takenby educators and developers for the independence of WebTeaching from the traditional model of teaching; and itsexclusive application to replace the conventional classroomlearning.Index Terms ⎯ Web Teaching, Distance learning,Authoring tools.
