Carlos Alberto Ynoguti

Abstract

The discipline of scientific methodology aimsat introducing students to the field of scientific research.Topics covered in this course are varied, including:studying skills, types of knowledge, scientific method, andthe rules of scientific writing. Additionally, in engineeringcourses, it is common to address topics related to planningand execution of projects. In general, students do not havethe maturity to understand the importance of thisdiscipline, which means that the results obtained are notthose expected. Given this scenario, it was thought to givea course in a more playful way, where students learn thatcontent in a practical way in the form of real engineeringprojects, presentation of papers at conferences and otheractivities that simulate the real world. This articlediscusses the application of this methodology for 3 yearsin a subject taught to students of the first semester ofElectrical and Computer Engineering.Index Terms ⎯  Scientific methodology, problem basedlearning.
