SCIENTIFIC WORK METHODOLOGY: FOR A MORE CREATIVE PEDAGOGIC PRACTICES FOR TEACHING THE SUBJECT

Abstract


The present article raises discussionsconcerning more creative pedagogic approaches toScientific Work Methodology (MTC) subject. It presents theresults of an experiment carried along the first semester atthe Production Engineering graduation course at FederalUniversity of Paraíba which was applied to the first group ofnewcomers students, all regularly enrolled in the subject.Pedagogic changes (video classes, mini-forums, author´sinformation and additional contents) were inserted throughfive different phases, with progressive inclusion ofsupplemental contents to the original program, so as toincrease students’ interest and knowledge about Science andMethodology, ethics in science, scientific integrity,intellectual plagiarism and digital research sources inProduction Engineering. The results were two students’publications yet during the first semester. According toteachers it was noticed improvement in students' worksoverall quality when compared to other groups. Until thepresent moment, there were no reports of plagiarismsamongst those students.Index Terms ⎯  education in methodology, new pedagogicapproaches, pedagogy in MTC, teaching in ProductionEngineering  .
