Abstract

our modern world. Here we will exploreintroducing green and system technologies into theengineering and engineering technology curriculum. At theRochester Institute of Technology in New York a course hasbeen developed on wind power systems from wind resources, principles of energy conversion, to environmental andeconomic aspects. At Western Kentucky University a WaterTraining Institute (WTI) has been established in theManufacturing Sciences Department to focus on theevolution of the unique curricular aspects of the WTI. AtIzmir University in Turkey systems thinking and systemspractice topics are being introduced into undergraduateprograms. And at the University of Toledo they are utilizingthe familiarity of Google Earth in order to introduce civilengineering technology concepts to first-year, postsecondarystudents.Index Terms ⎯  energy conservation, green and systemtechnologies, wind power systems, environmental andeconomic aspects, water and waste water education inengineering and engineering technology, Google Earth as ateaching tool.
