Abstract

Student-centered learning allow students toactively participate in discovery learning processes froman autonomous viewpoint. Classroom AssessmentTechniques play a central role in monitoring the learningprocess in an student centered environment. These arewritten instant feedback techniques whose goal is tomeasure the "current state" of the classroom. Feedbackfrom these probes facilitates the students to take charge oftheir own study. In the summative assessment instance, the feedback is traditionally done through marking theexams with corrections and observations. The time lagbetween the exam and the feedback makes it hardlyefficient. Rubrics, written grids where the teacher'sexpectations are stated and the different levels ofperformance expected among students are stated, can beused to overcome this time gap by giving the feedback andmarking before the exam is held.Index Terms ⎯  Formative Assessment, ClassroomAssessment Techniques, Rubrics, Operating Systemsteaching.
