ASPECTOS AMBIENTALES EN EL CURRICULUM DE INGENIERÃA QUÃMICA EN ARGENTINA

Abstract


The approach Science, Technology,Society and Environment defines a scope ofacademic work, which assembles aspects ofscience and technology, related to theinteraction between social and environmentalfactors, and to scientific and technologicalchange. Within this frame, we have questionedthe function of education as an intercessorbetween humans’ beings and the environment.The purpose of the present work was to examinewhether the environmental aspects wereconsidered relevant in the curriculum ofChemical Engineering, for that matter elevenArgentine universities were taken into account.This paper focuses on the analysis of thecurriculum design together with the study ofprograms of the subjects related toenvironmental issues. The analysis tried toreveal aspects of the underlying curricularstructure. The results showed a wide disparityin the contents and in the time allotted to theabove-mentioned subjects, as well as a lack ofrelatedness within the curriculum design.
