Abstract


The curricular change implemented at theUNLP College of Engineering in 2003 was fundamentallybased upon two concepts: the reorganization of contentaround conceptual axes and a new teaching methodology.This change led to discussions between the teachers andmotivated them to carry out plans and take action in theclassroom to improve the quality of teaching. In this workwe refer to the subject of Mathematics C (Linear Algebra),which was previously given in two consecutive Calculuscourses, and describe the way in which the subject’s contentis currently taught, especially in the area of Linear Systemsof Ordinary Differential Equations. To improve the teachingof this particular area, we present a proposal that includesthe mathematic concepts of problem solving, applications inthe different branches of engineering, graphicrepresentations, and the utilization of software as a tool tostudy the performance of dynamic systems.
