Abstract

Web-Based Education (WBE) and ContinuousEducation (CE) are educational models that arose atdifferent times and in response to different social motives.Today, there is an important educational space in whichboth systems live together. Current work life requirementsand new educational paradigms that arise from thedevelopment of Information and CommunicationTechnologies (ICTs) and its growing use for generalpurposes, allowed for the arrival of educational scenarioswith very distinctive characteristics and potentials. Theadequate use of ICTs offers much more than a repository ofmaterials. In addition, the trend towards the Semantic Web(SW) requests the definition of appropriate metadata thatprovide a conceptual framework for knowledgerepresentation. In this paper, we introduce a contentorganizational model for a course developed under WBE,SW, and CE models.
