METODOLOGÃAS UTILIZADAS EN LA INDUSTRIA APLICADAS A LA SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS EN EL SECTOR EDUCATIVO

Abstract

8 disciplines methodology and Five StarsSystem were implemented at the UABC School of Business &Engineering in Tecate, Baja California, Mexico, during2006 and 2007 with the objective to reduce the desertionindex in the first semesters and to reinforce the quality of theindustrial engineering program certified in 2005 by theConsejo de Acreditación de la Enseñanza de la Ingeniería.We involve the school faculty and academic personnel incourses to familiarize ourselves with the application of themethodologies, and in the elaboration of manuals similar todocument the manufacturing processes in the industry.During two years, we documented the actions taken and ourmethodology allowed us to measure the efficiency of thecorrective actions we implemented.We concluded that, in order to elevate the quality ofteaching and improve the percentage of student retention atthe school, we need to extend these methodologies to otherareas.
