Abstract

Experiences involving the development ofstrategies to promote the students’ active and collaborativeparticipation in large courses are described. This work alsoincludes a weekly schedule with the following guidelines:theory lecture, followed by the corresponding practical classbased on a "procedure for solving exercises" presented bythe teacher in charge, and activities undertaken by studentswhich include teamwork, a short multiple choice test andhomeworks presented by the students in WORD® format; allof which give rise to a "course quality coefficient” thatshows the individual performance in such activities. Theaforementioned coefficient is included into the final outcomeof the examinations in order to complete the "continuousassessment", besides serving as a stimulus for the studentand providing a "continuous learning" scheme.
