Abstract


Knowledge management is related tomanagement in general, in activities like learning andinnovation, benchmarking and best practice, strategy,culture, and performance measurement. There is aninterdependence between explicit and tacit knowledge. Tacitknowledge is not easily shared but sometimes it needs to becommunicated to the rest of an organization. The use ofreports may help in the process of transforming tacitknowledge into explicit knowledge. In this way, this paperpresents two different initiatives and addresses the use ofreports as part of the development process of best practicelibraries. The initiatives described are distance learningcourses offered by UNICAMP: “OUVIDORIA PÚBLICA EPRIVADA NO BRASIL” and “CIDADANIA E CULTURA”.
