Abstract

Learning Objects (LO) are digital contents thataccessed in data libraries in the web. Professors atUNISUAM have virtual folders where digital contents areavailable for students, in order to encourage self-studyingand classroom activities. However, these virtual folders areneither designed as LOs nor available to visually impairedpeople, disrespecting the recommended norms for web. Inorder to solve this problem, this study was conduced, firstlymodifying the current source code of a virtual folder, considering the errors identified by automatic evaluationsystems. Furthermore, based on theoretical and technicalstudies, an LO Library was created, integratingtechnologies, obeying to web development patterns andmeeting visually impaired people’s expectations. Finally, three assessments were made, concerning quality, usabilityand accessibility, respectively. Based on their results, it ispossible to improve this project, so that digital contents canbe used with efficacy as LOs, easily available to visuallyimpaired people.
