GRAPSI_CHART – PSYCHROMETRIC CHART AND SIMULATION OF GRAIN HYGROSCOPICITY

Abstract


Knowledge of the psychrometric properties of
the air and of the physical properties of grains provide the
rational basis for the beneficial use of storage processes, as
aeration and drying. The software GRAPSI_CHART is
capable of calculating the psychrometric properties and
simulating the basic psychrometric processes, beyond
calculating sorption isotherms for different types of grains
by using different equations, as the Chung-Pfost and the
modified Henderson ones. GRAPSI_CHART combines the
precision of analytical methods with the flexibility of the
graphical ones, showing the results in charts plotted on the
computer screen and allowing the user to save them in files
with different formats. This software has been successfully
used for didactic and practical purposes in both schools and
companies of engineering.
