FLEXIBILITY TO HARMONIZE TEACHERS AND INSTITUTIONAL STAKEHOLDERS´ PURPOSES OF E-LEARNING INITIATIVES

Inés Casanovas

Abstract

A growing percentage of Universities have
adopted some approach to e-learning implementations. The
stakeholders roles included in the new interdisciplinary team
envision the purposes of e-learning initiatives not always
focusing on the same value, as we already faced in a pilot
case study experience. A challenge is to harmonize the
administration-centered and learning centered purposes
within a shared perspective to enhance the results of
adopting e-learning. A current research line proposes a
software tool technique to help communication between
developers and e-learning stakeholders. We think that there
is another path, perhaps complementary to the software tool,
based on techniques proposed by Usability and
Requirements Engineering Standards that would provide
flexibility to enhance compatibility of purposes among
teachers and institutional representatives. A larger case
study experience, including several pilot groups will be
carried out with the aim of strengthening the findings of the
previous experience.
