WEB-BASED EDUCATION IN ENGINEERING – AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE FUTURE?

Abstract

There are many reasons to start discussing theoffering of courses on the web in engineering education,such as a means to attract students to engineeringeducation, internationalization and globalization, a newgeneration of students with Internet experience, and theopportunity to try new pedagogy. The purpose of this paperis to discuss web-based education from differentperspectives. Experiences from web-based education areanalyzed against the overall question: How can generalknowledge of web-based education be transferred intoengineering education and become more widespread?
