EVALUATION OF SURFACE ROUGHNESS OF RAPID PROTYPED SAMPLES DUE TO PROCESS PARAMETER VARIATION

Abstract


The objective of this research was to find thebest combination of factor levels that minimized thesurface roughness of prototyped samples from FusedDeposition Modeling (FDM). A three level – three factorexperiment was conducted and analyzed using Taguchimethods. The parameters chosen for this research wereModel Temperature, Layer Thickness and RasterOrientation. The results gathered from this experimentwere analyzed in order to determine the factors thatminimized the surface roughness of the specimens.
