Abstract


Simulation tools are widely used inseveral fields of engineering. Matlab ® beyond presents ahigh level programming language, it shows a powerful toolfor simulation. Currently, the subject "Power Quality" hasbeen increasingly exploited. Multipulse rectifiers arepresented as a passive technique for correction of powerfactor and reduced harmonic content injected into theelectrical mains. The proposal of this work is to present thestudy of some rectifier topologies, isolated and non-isolatedfor both 12 and 18-pulse rectifiers. The main challenge ofthis work is helping to introduce the Matlab ® simulationtools in the multipulse rectifiers and teaching it in a simpleand didactic manner. Simulation results of the voltage andcurrent waveforms for some rectifier circuit topologies arepresented, as well as results of harmonic analysis forcurrents in the mains.Index Terms ⎯ Simulation, Matlab, multipulse converters,power factor corrections, low THD.
