PROJETO DE PLATAFORMA DE FORÇA INSTRUMENTADA APLICADA A ESTUDOS DE MOTRICIDADE HUMANA

Abstract


This article describes the design of an instrumentedforce plate, this equipment is used as tool for supportinghealth professionals work within the study of humanmotricity such as balancing, posture, etc., for example physiotherapistsmonitoring patients rehabilitation with motionlimitation. The equipment consists of an electronic scale formeasuring how patient’s weight is distributed over each footindividually and his pressure center location, over the time.The system consists of two platforms supported over loadcells one for each foot. Pressure applied on this platform isconverted in electrical signals that vary proportionallyto force applied. These signals are electronicallyprocessed, digitized and transferred by RS-232 communicationinterface to a computer. The developed computer humaninterface software receives data, process it and show relevantinformation to health professional.Key Words ⎯ Biomedical instrumentation, biometrical Standards,data acquisition, load cells, force plate.
