STRATEGY OF INTERNATIONAL TECHNICAL TEACHER TRAINING AT TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

Abstract


Implementation of international technicalteacher training strategy is aimed at the development ofeducation quality at Tambov State Technical University(TSTU). It is carried out at three levels: undergraduates’(first) level, postgraduates and young technical teachers’(second) level, doctoral (third) level. At the first level TSTUhas six-year experience of students’ training for teachingtechnical disciplines in English. At the second level thestrategy is targeted at the improvement of teaching technicaldisciplines in English, the profound foreign languagelearning, the postgraduates and teachers’ acquaintance withthe European system of higher education and understandingof the Bologna Process. At the third level TSTU providestraining according to IGIP standards for engineeringteachers who have significant achievements and experiencein scientific and educational sphere. The strategy is realizedby several TSTU divisions, which work in cooperation andclose interaction with each other.Index Terms  ⎯ engineering teachers, foreign language,teacher training, technical disciplines.
