Abstract


This study aims to reflect on the vision in thisfantastic bestiary, reared in different cultures and countries,as a sort of fantastic beings, which could introduce into thehuman chaos, if they were not properly identified. In thisanalysis we will analyze the relationship betweencataloging, imagination and fear as a way of materializingthe unknown by providing explanation to the man, protectionand possibility of organization of nature and its phenomena.Thus, cataloging fears, represented in the most unlikelyways bestial life is possible and, more importantly, theorder. To make this analysis we will use the methodologyrelated to the semiotics of culture and information studies ofstructural semantics, applied to medieval bestiary, andmainly to depictions of fantastic beings developed byBrazilian Indian tribes, and interferences of the imaginaryconstruction of the production bestiaries contemporary,mainly through films and literature.Index Terms - Bestiary, Communication, Imagination, Fear:Sign.
